Monika Weiss: Sustenazo, Centre of Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw (2010)

Works in the exhibition: Sustenazo (Lament I, Lament II, Lament III), 2010, 3 single channel video projections, site-specific sound composition in the corridor leading to main rooms, floor installation: found pre-WW2 German books and medical instruments; drawing triptych Sustenazo (Nosze), 2009 (charcoal on rice paper, 74 x 20 each panel); Sustenazo (Sypialnia), 2009 (limited edition 1 of 3 color photograph taken in the bedroom of Krystyna Janda, 22 x 32 in.); drawing wall installation Sustenazo (Drawing on Goethe), 2009-2010 (charcoal, graphite, dry pigment, resin on found book pages, from a series of 110 drawings on pages from collected works by Goethe published in 1880s, 5 x 3 1/2 in. / 12,7 x 9 cm each). Movement choreographed, filmed and edited by the artist, performer: Gillian Lipton. Music composed by the artist, opera vocalist: Anthony Roth Costanzo. The Sixth Borough, Governors Island, New York (2010)

No Longer Empty invited visitors to The Sixth Borough, a series of site-specific art installations on Governors Island. Work in the exhibition: Phaos, 2010 (single channel video and sound composition, film was based on the artist site-specific performance and the footage she filmed on the ferry connecting Manhattan with Governors Island. The video was projected onto suspended from the ceiling screen; floor installation created from found books, military maps, and military objects). For more information click here.
